Dear St. Raphael School Families and Friends,

Tuesday we have a school Mass at 10 am in the church.  Our fifth grade class will be honoring St. John Bosco.  We are so blessed to have the opportunity to celebrate these monthly Masses this year to honor the lives of numerous saints.  Students have learned so much about these holy people.  We are all called to be saints and what a blessing to learn about these fascinating people God sent to us. St. John Bosco advocated frequent reception of the sacraments of Penance and Holy Communion.  Join us for Holy Communion on Tuesday!

Please remember that next Monday we do not have school in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  He was a man that fought for equality and freedom.  We are grateful for his life.

January 29th-February 4th is Catholic Schools Week!  This is a time where we celebrate the superb experiences that our Catholic Schools offer.  Please mark your calendars for some important events of the week.  We will have a big Mass at Bishop Diego High School on Wednesday, February 1st at 10:00 am.  The week will conclude with an Open House starting at 1:15 in the Parish Hall.  Students will entertain you with songs and poems.  After the Open House, you can visit all of the classrooms.   It’s a great opportunity to see what the next grade level looks like for your children.  Please invite your friends so they can also see what a special place St. Raphael School is!

Our school auction is right around the corner!  The theme this year is “Aloha!”  The auction committee has been hard at work to make this a night to remember.  It’s time to purchase your tickets!  The festive night is February 25th, so mark your calendars now!

A Saint’s Prayer for Catholic Schools Week
Blessed are You, O Lord our God.
You give us time for growing and learning
and You give us the gift of Catholic education.

May we, with Your servant, Saint Thomas Aquinas, thank You for our school.
And with Your servant, Saint John Baptist de La Salle, we thank You for our teachers.
And with Your servant, Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, we thank You for our learning
And with Your servant, Saint John Bosco, we thank You for our faith.
And with Your servant, Saint Katharine Drexel, we thank You for all your gifts to us.
As these holy men and women have been Your servants,
Help us also to serve You and work toward a faith-filled future.  Amen.
