Dear St. Raphael School Families and Friends,

We had a wonderful week celebrating Catholic Schools Week.  The highlight of the week was on Wednesday when students from St. Raphael School, Notre Dame School, and Our Lady of Mount Carmel School joined Bishop Diego High School students for our first-ever Catholic Schools Mass.  Bishop Curry presided over Mass but was joined by Father Bruce and Father Lawrence from St. Raphael Parish; Father Paul, Father Garcia and Father Lee from Our Lady of Sorrows; Father Ludo from Holy Cross and Father Rafael from Our Lady of Guadalupe.  It was a sheer blessing to have the Bishop and all of the other priests from the Santa Barbara area join in with this celebration.  Bishop Curry reminded all of the students that Jesus is the Good Shepard and no matter what, He always loves us!

We want to thank all of you for attending our Open House on Friday.  It was great to hear the children sing and they were extremely thrilled to show you their classrooms!  We have an incredible school and have so much to be thankful for at St. Raphael School!

As we continue with our Catholic school tradition of service, we asked that all of our students make Valentine Day cards for our troops.  Last year, we made so many that a local radio station came to St. Raphael School to pick them up!  This year, Trace Nealy from the 105.5 morning show came to pick up the cards the students made for the troops.  Once again she was impressed!

This is just another reminder that our school auction is just a few weeks away…on February 25th!  The auction committee is selling The Golden Ticket again this year. The Golden Ticket costs $25 and is good for a year’s tuition at St. Raphael School!  It’s time to buy yours today!  Tickets for the auction are also available in the office or on our auction website at www.straphaelauction.com.

A Child's Prayer for Morning
Now, before I run to play,
Let me not forget to pray
To God who kept me through the night
And waked me with the morning light.
Help me, Lord, to love thee more
Than I ever loved before,
In my work and in my play
Be thou with me through the day.

Amen.
