Catholic Schools Week
When: January 29th thru February 5th
Catholic Schools Week is an annual national celebration of the important role that Catholic elementary and secondary schools across the country play in providing an education that emphasizes not only academics, but also spiritual, moral, and social values.
This year’s theme focuses on three priorities that Catholic schools establish that make them stand out from other educational institutions. Children are taught Faith – not just the basics of Christianity, but how to have a relationship with God. Academics, which in Catholic schools are held to very high standards, help each child reach his or her potential. Service, the giving of one’s time and effort to help others, is taught both as an expression of faith and good citizenship.
St. Raphael School celebrates the week with the following special activities:
January 30: Blue & Gold Day along with staff basketball game

January 31: School Family activity and picnic lunch
February 1: Mass with Bishop Curry @ 9:00 am. Parents are invited to have lunch with their children
February 2: Pep rally and staff vs. students in kickball and volleyball
February 3: Open house from 1:00-3:30 pm
St. Raphael School was founded when God answered a Daughter of Charity’s prayer. To this day, our mission is consistent with that of our founding Sisters: to educate all children in preschool through eighth grade in mind, body and spirit by imparting the values of Jesus through a rigorous curriculum, devoted faculty and an actively involved parent community.
